Arash Safaian is an artist and composer. He studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nürnberg and showed his series of artworks in solo and group exhibitions, before moving to the Munich College of Music and Drama to study composition with Pascal Duspin, Jan Müller-Wieland and Enjott Schneider. He has made his mark as a composer with orchestral works, ensemble pieces, film music and operas – in New York „on the beach“ – ( Director Robert Wilson ) at the Baryshnikov Arts Center, in Berlin (“Der Schuss 2-6-1967”) at Oper Neukölln and in Munich (“At Stake”) at the Opera Biennale. Safaian has won the Composition Prize of the Reinl Foundation in Vienna, the int. Günther Bialas Prize, Bavaria’s e-on Arts Prize and the ECHO:KLASSIK 2017 for his Piano Concerto Cycle “ÜberBach” and Bavarian Filmprice 2019 for Best Filmmusic for his score of „LARA“. His Music is performed in international concert halls like Tonhalle Zürich, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Philharmonie Berlin, Savannah Music Festival, National Theatre Mannheim, L´Auditori de Barcelona, Odessa Music Festival, Philharmonie Luxemburg, Schleswig Holstein Music Festival, Prinzregentheater Munich and many more. He looks back to performances with orchestras and ensembles like the Zürcher Kammerorchester,  the Orquesta y Coro Nacionales de España, the Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona, the deutsches Kammerorchester Berlin, The Luxembourg Philharmonic, The Duisburger Philharmoniker, The Rundfunkorchester des bayerischen Rundfunks, The Bach-Collegium Munich. His Music is released on the Deutsche Grammophon, Berlin Classics/Neue Meister and BMG.
