Manuel Hilleke lebt als freischaffender Trompeter, Bandleader, Arrangeur und Komponist in Mainz. Er arbeitet als Dozent für Jazz-Trompete und Bandcoaching am Peter-Cornelius-Konservatorium Mainz, ist Kopf der europaweit tourenden Brass Band Marshall Cooper und betreibt seit 2018 die Onlinetutorialplattform https://contemporarybrassmusic.com.
Darüber hinaus ist er als Gastdozent zu den Themen Pädagogik, Selbstmanagement und Potenzialentfaltung an verschiedenen Musikhochschulen sowie auf Tagungen und Kongressen tätig. Sein Spezialgebiet als Arrangeur umfasst insbesondere Neuinterpretationen von Songs für Instrumentalbesetzungen.
Seine Kompositionen kennzeichnen sich vor allem durch die Kombination von Groove-& filmmusikalischen Elemente.
